Apple Nutrition Points

Last time we talked about banana and its nutrition properties. Apple just like banana is also a dietary fruit and is very beneficial for our health. They are often used as a component of diabetic diet meal plans. Apples are also often met among ingredients for various vegetarian meals (desserts, fruit salads, bakery, and drinks)

Apples are not bursting with vitamins and minerals like other fruits, though they do provide a bit of vitamin C and potassium. But they provide a powerful antioxidants that promote better health, maintain good digestion, and help keeping blood sugar level under control (which consequently contributes in preventing type II diabetes). Apples and apple juice may be heart healthy due to their antioxidant properties associated with the phenolic compounds found in them. Apples also have antiviral properties.

Apples can be yellow, green, red or a combination of theses colors. By the way to get the most benefit, don’t peel your apples. Quercetin is found only in the skin. The average calorie value of an apple is somewhere between 70 and 80 calories with approximately 20 grams of carbohydrate. So, it’s a low-calorie food.

Everyone knows that apples are good for you, and now you know why!
