What Does a Balanced Diet Consist of?

Balance and harmony are those issues that are necessary and important in all aspects and spheres of our life. It also refers to the process of dieting. Ideal diet is a balanced diet which takes into account needs and peculiarities of your body.

Balanced diet meal plans should consist of five main groups of food. They are grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and meat and meat alternatives. It means that every single day of a diet you have to consume products of all of these five groups. Those who live according to vegetarian food rules can always substitute dairy and meat products with their alternatives which are numerous today, so, vegetarians will not feel infringed.

Of course we shouldn’t forget about daily intake of vitamins and minerals that are essential for good health. They are the source of our life energy, and energy is always a sign of good health.

It may sound a bit strange but balanced diet should consist of such components that make you feel comfortable and natural. In this case it would be effective. Otherwise its effect would be less visible. In general a healthy balanced diet necessarily includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk; the rest could be optional.
